DREAMERS

This project is about dreamers. About people who have already chosen their piece of land, but their home exists only in their imagination. These are small communities, where each plot of land is a promise of the future, a canvas on which life is about to appear.

This project is about believing in one’s own, about the silence before the beginning, about the present that already carries the future.
It is dedicated to all Oosterwold dreamers whose dreams will sooner or later become reality. I truly believe that.

OOSTERWOLD

Residents of Almere Oosterwold form a very diverse community: young families, enthusiastic small-scale farmers, architects, craftsmen, and creative professionals. They are united by a desire to live more consciously and to shape their surroundings themselves. Many come here specifically for the freedom to experiment and to take part in a shared project.

The homes in Oosterwold are just as varied as the people who live there. You can find eco-friendly wooden houses, passive homes, dome structures, modular buildings, tiny houses, and even small farms combined with living spaces. Each plot develops according to its own logic: some focus on agricultural projects, others on energy autonomy, and some transform their land into small garden parks. As a result, the area looks more like a mosaic of individual ideas than a traditional residential district.

Residents are also active in building cultural life. Small local festivals and celebrations are held regularly, organized by the neighbors themselves: farmers’ markets, open-garden days, musical picnics, and art festivals where local makers and artists showcase their work. These events often become an opportunity for exchanging knowledge—on permaculture, construction, energy solutions, and creating shared spaces.

Ultimately, Oosterwold is not just an experimental district but a living community where people shape their environment with their own hands and turn neighborhood life into a form of collective creativity.
